The overall effect of the latte was both calming and energizing. The feeling of being awake and wired, but not stressed, continued even after I’d finished my latte and was on the train back to the city. Normally, crowded trains make me anxious at best and irritated at worst, but even an obnoxious manspreader couldn’t ruin my good mood. I walked back to work with a smile on my face. However, after about an hour, my good vibes were gone, and I was back to feeling just as stressed as before.

The few CBD studies out there give us limited information, and hardly any about recreational CBD use. One study gave people different amounts of ingested CBD (100, 300, and 900 mg), as well as, for comparison, a placebo and Klonopin; those people then had to give a public speech, an action associated with high levels of anxiety in the broad populace. Neither 100 mg nor 900 mg, nor the placebo, had any effect. The 300 mg dose, though, did have a measurable calming effect on heart rate, blood pressure, and anxiety. (The Klonopin also worked.)
Another difference between marijuana and hemp is that hemp contains an enzyme that marijuana doesn’t, an enzyme responsible for the production of CBD. First, let’s look at the differences between the plants that make CBD oil. To start with, the two plants look physically different. This is due to the different reasons that both of them are grown. Cannabis, grown for its flowering buds for reasons of smoking or THC extraction, are generally short and wide. Hemp, on the other hand, is tall and narrow as it is not grown for its buds. Hemp is low in THC and is often grown for a variety of purposes including the manufacture of materials.
